Boys’ Brigade

We are one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK & Republic of Ireland - see the Boys' Brigade and Girls' Association website for further information.

We are committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of developmental activities and experiences.

There is something for every young person, whether it is camping or kayaking, first aid or five-a-side football. Members develop skills, build confidence, make friends, take responsibility and are encouraged to make a real difference in their communities.

Our work with children and young people is made possible thanks to our volunteer helpers and leaders who give of their time so generously. Our helpers and leaders are approved by the local church and registered through the national headquarters of the Boys' Brigade and Girls' Association. All helpers and leaders in regular contact with children and young people must hold up-to-date validation through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), formerly the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).

Our Age Groups

We meet every Tuesday at Woodford Methodist Church, Derby Road. We provide a broad range of age-related activities for children and young people right through from 5 to 18 years.

The Company is organised into two age groups, with the following titles:

  • Anchor and Junior Section for young people aged 5–10 years; and

  • Company and Senior Section for young people aged 10–18 years.
